We would like to inform all people and companies associated with the tinting industry to beware of an attempted scam by a gentleman called Andrew Haddock (?) from Ayo Car Rentals. The contact is made by mail in a similar format to the below:

Hello
I want to make inquiry if the will be vacancies for tinting our car
in your company for our executive rentals cars which were
just bought and want to be tinted with tinting films before usage
The cars will be arriving the counter by a private cargo ship name
SSbuirgo which will be here before the 10 of August and necessary
clearance will be done before the 14 of August so by this calculation the
cars will be at your place for installation on the 20 of August and the
vehicle are all Toyota sienna cars of the same make and so i bet that the
services that you will be rendering and the cost will be the same in
all.
The services that you will be rendering to us is just simple since the cars are
all black i will be better if they are tinted with black tinting film so i will
like you to get back to me with the total cost.

Once you have accepted this offer, quoted and made arrangements, the scam really shows its ugly head with a follow up mail simailar to the below:

Hello,
Good to read from you.I will send to you my Visa credit card details that will cover the cost of our car tinting, and the necessary arrangement for the car tinting. Moreover,we also made an arrangement with a logistics agent who will be in charge in arranging for transportation of the cars to and fro from your place after each of them has being worked upon and his duty also include the following.
1) Transportation of the 18 sienna cars
2) further directives
3) Daily inspection of the cars after Tinting.
4)Providing a any assistance you may need during the period of the car equipping However, because of security reasons and confidentiality reposed on you and because they do not have credit card facility, we have decided that only YOU will have to handle the credit card information. So,once you receive my visa card account information, you are required to charge the total amount of {£7,900} then deduct your deposit which is {£ 2,200 } and send the balance of (£ 5,700} to the logistics agent whose information will be forwarded to you once this is confirmed. N.B:    All checks and balances will be made with you on the first day of your services . So confirm this and provide me with your

This is quite clearly a scam to extort money out of UK companies and the editor has had previous experience of such scams. We would therfeore recommend to all our fellow professionals that they stay clear of this particular scam.
Mr Haddock will only communicate by mail - if you ring the telephone number is is never answered, nor is there an opportunity to leave a message.
